Caption: Here's a somewhat rare shot of the old Canada Crushed Stone Ltd all-purpose locomotive that sat up on the CCSL property at Dundas for a few years after the operation shut down in the early 1970s. The structures of the CCSL were prominent features along the hillside over Dundas for many years, and for a time the outfit interchanged with the CN and the TH&B which came up thru Dundas by way of Aberdeen yard. I do not know where this unit ever ended up, I would imagine it was trucked out as the quarry "mainline" had been torn up by the time I took this photo. Using information supplied by noted author and authority on Industrial and "Critter" locomotives, Steve M. Timko, this 24 Tonner Plymouth was built in 7/7/1927 model" HLC-3, a 127 HP gas-mechanical Climax R6u engine. It had been on the CCSL since 1930. (Hope I got that right, SMT !!) The quarry is still in business, now ships via truck and the main operation faces Hwy 5 near Brock Rd.
