Caption: Here's a rare sight for many, the Steel Train departed Hamilton in the late afternoon, and usually returned with loaded coils in darkness, so when this suddenly appeared on the radar while I was waiting for NS 328, I had to go to a spot for it. I'm keeping the signal in the shot as this is how I shot it, I was only able to get a loaded coil steel train twice (not that I can say I tried really hard, I simply ran into them). Back then info on when these ran and why was hard to get, you just waited for stuff to roll by usually and hoped for the best. The good 'ol days! I shot this at 0917, Amtrak at 0931, 3 GP9's on a Belt Line Job at 0949, 421 at Stuart at 1015, then NS 328 at 1030, a good morning to say the least. Note after the Steel Train was dropped off @ Stelco the engines would return light power to the oil track in Hamilton yard.
