Caption: Grand Trunk Western GP40 6419 leads CN GP40-2L(W) units 9414 and a sister on a "Laser" intermodal train (likely an eastbound from the US), heading inbound to Brampton Intermodal Terminal via the leads at the south end of the yard off the Halton Subdivision, nearing the underpass at Steeles Avenue East. The large Export A cigarette advertisement hearkens back to an era not too long ago when it was still legal to publicly advertise tobacco products in Canada (that all started to vanish in 1989 with the passing of the federal Tobacco Products Control Act (TPCA)).

Opened a few years earlier in 1979 on what was then Bramalea/Chinguacousy Township farmland, the Brampton Intermodal Terminal was established as CN's main intermodal hub for the Toronto/GTA area (it replaced a smaller container-handling operation inside CN's MacMillan Yard known as Conport, that opened in 1969).
