Goderich - Exeter's work here is almost done as they prepare to hand off the two dimensional loads to CN. Interestingly the RTC would make the GEXR pull past Georgetown station on the south track, run light power to the Credit before allowing 351 to connect to the train and depart west on the south track. This delayed VIA 85 significantly as a result. Previously GEXR and CN exchanged these dimensional loads at Silver. I guess it made sense to someone why it was done this way this time. At least it allowed a few more photos this way this time.

  1. The RTC had to make GEXR go east past Georgetown (Credit no longer exists, only the river). The GEXR can’t reverse in the interlocking, so they have to clear the plant to get a westward signal to go back to the Guelph Sub. The CN power would then get a “return to train” authority to pick up the load. I guess the RTC thought they might have made the move quicker, but as usual VIA pays the price.

  2. Too bad 85 was delayed….I guess someone didn’t read the dimensional file completely….otherwise, there might not have been a delay!
