I didn’t welcome the new look, and still don’t. Nonetheless, I managed to catch 248 last weekend. It seems very few are still in service. For collectors out there, this might be a very useful time to have some contacts, as I’m sure they’ll be a lot of horns and bells becoming surplus shortly.
I am sure GO won’t sell the bells and horns. I have had cab cars used as coaches many years ago when I operated GO trains. They may sell the coaches or reconfigure them.
I see what you’re getting at, as GO may want some of the bells and horns for parts. Makes sense. About 15 cabcars still use the older Nathan K5LA horns, which do not meet Transport Canada’s newer horn regulations. Which makes me wonder if GO will just send them off to a scrap yard, possibly LTEX in Ohio. I don’t expect a public auction like Amtrak did for a few of their horns. Lol.
