Yeah, it is not the sexiest picture, I really like the style of numbers used on the 1069′s numberboard. Plus, you can easily see the extra lights are lit up.
These units always look great in their original configuration long hood leading.
Hi Terry, you are certainly right. Those NAR units always provide interesting versions of elephant style. Although they are long hood forward, the trailing units have their all weather windows on this side.

I snapped CN 1169 (ex-CN 1069) on a much warmer day 16 years later on August 20, 2002 sitting in a deadline at ONR’s yard in North Bay, ON.

Hi Paul, thanks for the additional photos on the 1069/1169. Some lucky person, hopefully, was able to secure those original number boards for themselves.
