Gloomy day, but I am used to days of this kind. CN 4575 and 4520, both Geeps based out of Fort Erie, haul a unit GATX Tank Train westward past the Merritton station, destination unknown. With just two GP9s in charge, we know
the tank cars are empties.
I don't know anything about these cars, as to whether they are still used around the province or not. Just on short runs, I would assume. Do recall a cut of similar cars in an eastbound CN at Copetown a few months back. Have seen a solid train of this type only a couple of times over the years.

  1. Small cuts still run to Maitland, Ontario.

  2. Back in the 80′s, believe these moves would have been oil coming from Sarnia (end of pipeline?) to oil-fired power plants in New York State via Conrail.
