Caption: Funny how history sometimes repeats itself: the old signal bridge that protected the west end of the old plant at Bayview was replaced by a pair of signal masts during the reconfiguration when the third main track was extended to Bayview as part of GO Transit service expansion to Hamilton. Now, with further extension of the third track west from Bayview, a new signal bridge has been placed not far from that in the photo above, but on the opposite side of the tracks (see photo #26232). In this view by Bill McArthur we see CN #399 starting up the Dundas sub through the 15 mph crossovers. Fast forward 10 year (! - hard to believe how time flies!...) and now trains can 40 mph through the reconfigured plant. Kodachrome slide, author's collection.
