Nicely done!
Very cool shot!
New ballast looks nice…almost makes me want to go see CP..
Superb vantage point!
Nice Steve. In Hamilton again eh? I’m always there M-F now but no time at lunch Some people have the view of the Ham Sub in my office. I saw a train today – cool view.
Beautiful vantage point!
Great city scene!
Very nice.
Ties on dirt meant the track was undercut with a special machine called..what else, an undercutter. The old ballast is completely removed and it called “skeletonized”. The ballast train then moves over the track and dumps the ballast and fills the roadbed with new rock. Later the broom, tamper and other equiptment will take over to complete the process.
Thanks all. I’m in Hamilton often Kevin. Family and appointments. If a train happens and I think it’ll be good, I go for it. This one fell on my lap and I went up the hill for a shot.
Steel Steve…returns…
Snake.
Btw – the tree in this photo is now at rail level and very quickly making this shot much more difficult. Need a train on the siding now…. and within 2 years this shot will require a pole cam or drone.
Go by now and everything is gone including the box cars. Property is for sale and the only thing are crane pieces on the property..
