Caption: From the "gallery" of stations once again; here is one many may not even know existed. The CP station in Cobourg was right across from the current revitalized VIA station in town. It was a latecomer on the scene as stations go, having not been opened until 1914. The station was closed in 1966, and was torn down 41 years ago, in 1979. At the time this photo was taken, the opposite side of the building was an entrance to a "used furniture" business. I took this photo from the parking lot of the old CN (pre-VIA) station, using Woolco film, which held up surprisingly well after all these years.

Thanks for this. I remember seeing it when catching a train to Montreal in 1975. It looked the same.
Shame, another unique structure lost.
