Caption: From one end of the CSX: The latest things to arrive in Sarnia wait at the Clifford St Depot for either a Y190 (day shift) and Y290 (afternoon shift). Since 2006 when the CP run through ended the only power you could see in Sarnia was basically only from a pool of CSX GP38-2's. But now the rebuilds have arrived. I call them things because I'm not sure I care for these, their boxy look... just doesn't appeal to me, but your mileage may vary :) Sarnia's former C&O sure has changed in more ways too, where there used to be three or four units even this Spring, they are down to two, and it seems PSR has hit the Sarnia operations as they are trying really hard to do with as little as possible. Two units for two jobs, with little to no overlap between jobs anymore. Just a day shift (190) and an afternoon shift (290) and occasional (once or twice a month?) extras in the middle, all sharing these two. For now. We'll see if this sticks.

To be clear, the “You know it’s bad” from above, is in regard to the cab design. Not the photographer, who takes many excellent photos, including this one.

Btw the boxcar is used for storage for mow team. Been there forever.

Thanks Steve. Wow – down to just two units! From very limited Sarnia observations over the past few years, it seemed they were keeping 4 units in Sarnia: 2 for use on the jobs described, one active “spare” at Clifford St., and one at LDS for inspection/repairs. No room for error now!
