Wow, awesome shot!
Nice! 4976 came into Windsor on CN 439 today.
Nice shot. You know the Belfeild Industrial lead that is currently out of servace. On the opposite side of Rutherford is the industry at 106 Orenda road. Was there ever a spur serving that industry that I assume was tore out when it went out of servace? If there was do you know what year it went out of servace?
No. But you do know, Graydon, that this is nice light and you can also get nice light here good luck young man.
Wow took nearly 4 years to get a answer to my original question but yes I am aware of that and I too got good light here.
In summer time, you almost always will get good light on the west side of the tracks when CN’s switching Zocheam but east side? I have a couple really good shots in mind from the east side of the tracks too which I think will look hot but honestly, only time I ever had good light while shooting from the east (without being on the SHADOWED side of the train) was on Victoria Day 2015. Train had already finished with Owen Illinois and it was about 10:30am when they ran power around and began switching Zocheam at about 11. Got no good photos from that day as I was JUST beginning to practice photography.
I feel it’ll be very hard now to redo that shot in sun because Owen Illinois seems to have expanded their rail service a lot since then and quite often fill their covered hopper sidings to their maximum capacity so therefore, 559 seems to spend quite a bit more time there switching (2 or so hrs) and the more time they spend, the faster the sun will make it to the west side even in May! And after their finished Owen Illinois, they’ll often squeeze in their half hr lunch break too before they move on to Zocheam. Back in 2015, 559 usually waited until they were off the Glass Lead before taking their lunch break as well.
I didn’t exactly answer it, I can’t answer your historical questions about Brampton I’m just not all that interested in it.
You are local to it, you should be able to do well if you are willing to give it some time. Time will get you the photos you want, but you have to have lots of patience. It can take years.
Good luck
Well I got the yes or no answer I was looking for. I personally was always taught that it’s better to give a yes or no rather than leave an individual hanging.
And ok I’ll see what awaits me
Sorry Graydon but I didn’t know the answer then and still don’t know now. I just take pictures.
