For those who are old enough, and lived in the Falls; this photo should bring back a lot of memories. CSX is heading stateside, barely out of sight of the bridge in this photo, with a couple of worn units, 2713 in Seaboard Coast Line paint, and the following 8182, in a later Seaboard scheme, But the focus of the photo is on the old King Edward Hotel, the notorious 'King Eddy', one of those infamous landmark old boozers of the past. One can see it is already in the process of demolition when this picture was taken, and now, just like the track thru town, is just a memory.

  1. Another desolate scene from the desolate area of Niagara Falls. Was that hotel on Bridge Street? How long did CSX serve the east end to Buffalo. This picture must have been near the end of that too.

  2. Queen St., I think. Maybe some old drunks on this list might know. :o ) The CSX runs ended in late 1996.
