For locomotive maintenance needs, Central Western Railway had a shed (door at other end) at Warden, 5.2 miles south of operations headquarters at Stettler. On Friday 1990-05-25, GP9 7438 (ex Conrail 7438, ex Penn Central 7438, nee New York Central 6038), with magnificent and distinctly different exhaust spark arrestors, awaited its next duty.
