Ex CPR G5a #1201 is working the CP Rail Maniwaki Subdivision for the regularly scheduled National Museum excursion train to Wakefield, P.Q. Perhaps a viewer can identify the exact location. And that is a Ford Pinto on the right. I understand the 1201 has remained in a shed behind the museum – for over 25 years! August 25, 1979 Kodachrome by S. Danko.

  1. Uhm, what happened to this excursion and how dit it become the private operator with European equipment it is today?

  2. In this photo, 1201 is northbound, within minutes from this trip’s destination, that is, just North of the preserved ex-CP station in Wakefield.

  3. Beautiful photo. My grandfather worked to restore this beautiful locomotive. I was wondering if you had any more photos of the 1201?
