Caption: Ever had to chase high ballin oil cans from Hamilton to practically Woodstock because of your scanner? If so, you may relate to this story... CP 8705 was cleared north on the Hamilton Sub out of Kinnear. Didn't hear it because the transmission was muffled, so I assumed it was a yard job or 255 or 247. But thanks to a Facebook post, it was empty CP oil train, 647 with CSX 3028 trailing. After 246 showed up at 6 in the morning with a UP, amd in the dark, this was our only foreign power for the day. We drove all the way from CN Snake, to Ayr, Ontario to catch up to 647 and see it. We arrived in Ayr, and it was still a while away (so I thought). So,we headed east to Orr's Lake siding. Missed it. Then drove to Wolverton, but it would of been too close. So, we decided to go to Blandford Siding where we finally caught it.
