Even the Niagara Falls 'locals' will have to stop and think in regards to just where this shot was taken of a CP westbound which has just cleared the USA, rolling thru Clifton Hill and is on the way to Toronto. I am standing on the roadway bridge to the Skylon Tower. That is 'tower parking' on the left of the picture. The expansion of the Tourist Trap Towers around this area of the city in the past 30 years has been nothing short of remarkable. Pity it was at the expense of the railroad. It is no longer; having been removed in the early 2000s. CP 4222, 8212, 4245 and 8208 is the power.

  1. Two tracks still too…. in 1988! I only went there once when I owned a camera, saw trains from my Hotel window.. thought oh i’ll just go back. Nope, trains gone two weeks later. I married the girl I took to NF though :)

  2. Well, one out of two ain’t bad !!! :o )

  3. He met her on his lunch hour :)

  4. HAHAHAHA

We met in ’98 actually, at a bar, at night, which is typically lunch hour for Students :)

  5. What a great photo. I really wish I had photographed some trains coming though this area. Having crossed the bridge over nothing so many times this one hurts!
