Engineer Gilles (two weeks shy of retirement) and conductor Chris bid us adieu crossing Harvey Road heading out of McAdam for St. John. We'd catch up with them again in a couple of days at Welsford right where they said they'd be, waiting to haul a load of government and railway dignitaries to view infrastructure upgrades so the suits could see an example of where their joint investment money was going.

    Former DEVCO unit, and those units basically ran a loop on the DEVCO (which is now the Sydney Coal Railway) so they never strayed far from the shop on a daily basis.
