Caption: Eastbound CP train heading for the US border. I was impressed the power consisted of 3 straight SD40s; of which only 65 were made for CP. Power is CP 5500, 5514 and 5552 with a short train. I was so surprised to see the lead unit was the first built by the GM Diesel Division back in 1965 that I lost track of the wig-wag signal and shot this when the "stop" wigged when I wanted it to wag. But still, a photo for the history book. The CP 5500 was deemed Cultural Property Designation in 2003 and eventually ended up at the Revelstoke Heritage Railway Society museum in that BC town, where it is on display out back of the museum building. The unusual wig-wag signal used to be near the corner of Crowland and Biggar Rds in rural Niagara Falls.
