Caption: During the bitterly cold winter of 1993-1994, mechanical personnel were deployed to known difficult areas to improve the chances of trains getting over the road without delay, with particular emphasis on “hot” intermodal traffic. Thus, I was on eastward symbol train 482/03 with SD40-2s CP 5943 and SOO 6622 on Friday 1994-03-04 when we had a meet at Falcon, SK, 108 miles east from Moose Jaw, which presented an opportunity to railfan on pay. At just under a mile north of the TransCanada Highway, the sound of the idling units competed with the wind singing in the low pole-line wires.

Nice Ken – nice power to boot.
Great photo Ken. The old container cars behind the power are neat too.
I love seeing oldies on the Indian Head. Even to this day its brutally underappreciated with how few railfans there are across the province. Excellent power and history with some expressway traffic on board
