Caption: During 1997, Home Hardware and VIA Rail were in the midst of an aggressive marketing campaign on television, radio and in the print media as Internet journalism was still not yet invented. So in much simpler times, the best advertising was doing something unique to both brands. So, what better way to capture attention during Home Hardware's and VIA Rail's "Win a Train Trip Across Canada" promotion then to actually bring a piece of the Canadian to Home Hardware headquarter's itself. So the CN 15:30 Kitchener job hauled VIA dome observation car "Prince Albert Park" up the Waterloo Spur to St. Jacobs where it would spend the weekend near the Home Hardware facility. The car was lifted the following week by the same CN assignment and unfortunately both moves to and from Kitchener on the Waterloo Spur were under the cover of darkness.
