Caption: Due into Stratford at 0705h, train 28 from Goderich is seen curving down the last piece of the Goderich Sub alongside St. David Street (house at left being number 57) and, out of sight to the right, the CNr Stratford shops (note the sign and switchstand in both images). In just a moment, 28 will pull into track one and 5567 will head for the roundhouse to be serviced. A heavier engine, likely a Mountain type, will take control from Stratford to Toronto as the consist will grow with two coaches tacked on the rear. 28 will depart for Toronto at 0717h, arriving at 0950h.
CNR 5567, a K-3-a Pacific built by the Grand Trunk in 1912 as P4 class number 231. It received its renumbering/classification in 1923, and was scrapped in May 1958. As such, this undated slide would likely have been taken in 1957 or earlier.

And this is what CNR/VIA/and other Canadian passenger trains should look like.
Given the full foliage and the sun angle, I’d say this is June or July 1957. By august the shadows would be too long at 0700.
