Definitely not designed for style, the M-420's were not common in Halifax at this time. They were certainly not my favorite - big ugly nose that is not proportional to the body, clunky trucks, crudely angles fuel tank and an almost featureless side-body. It is hard to find something aesthetically pleasing about these locomotives. I prefer to look at what trails the ugly duckling.
