Caption: December 1973 the Fort Saint John has arrived back at Chetwynd BC after an all night trip to Fort Saint John and return. The John Turn left Chetwynd every evening north bound, setting off empty tank cars at Taylor and proceeding along to Fort Saint John. The crew would wye the power, build their south train and quite often take a meal break. Proceeding south with various loads of wood products, grain and other cargo, would stop at Taylor and pickup various loaded tank cars of petroleum products from the refinery there. After departing Taylor, the train would cross the Peace River and then the grind up a two percent grade to Septimus and then on to Chetwynd. The trips quite often were twelve or more hours on duty.
