CPR train 640 from Goderich is seen paused at Guelph behind F1a Jubilee 2925 during the summer of 1954. Less than a year remained for this train, and its counterpart, train 637, which made their last runs on April 23, 1955. In the background, boxcars can be seen spotted along Cardigan Street near the Pratt Food Company building (formely Goldie Mill). Silos for the Kloepfer Coal Company can be seen above the boxcars.Original Photographer Unknown, Jacob Patterson Collection Negative.

  1. Repatriate the neglected one at Steamtown. She’s there for the taking and rebuilding.

  2. This engine and 2929 shared the Toronto , Hamilton local in the early fifties along the lakeshore using running rights. They also worked the Goderich passenger run. This help clean the the flues and front end. They worked much harder on the hill and dale route and especially coming up hill out of Goderich and Hamilton. These hand bombers were well designed for short local and fast trains. And yes I think one would make a great excursion/tourist engine
