Note the CNR switcher to the left of Cabin D. Nice scene.
I worked on CN on the yardman’s spareboard before quitting and going over to CP. If I recall, relief for those switchtender jobs was provided by the yardman’s spareboard. If you look beyond the chairs, you can see a “dugout” roof. These dugouts were placed at different spots through the terminals. They provided shelter from the elements. They were quite small so as not to foul the tracks on either side.
