What a beauty
Great photo! While looking at old views of Steeetsville circa mid 1990s, I noticed that the entire GO station and platform seemed to be in a completely different position than modern times, would anyone be able to elaborate on when GO moved their platform into the center of the 2 main tracks? and I also believe the tracks were moved, or that signal cantilever in the background was moved closer towards the Missisauga Rd. level crossing
Thanks for the comments guys.
@cp5756- I’m not sure when GO moved the platform.
Must have been a small train. The tonnage rating for 2 four axle units between Dixie & Guelph Jct. was 3400.
4 axles were rated at 1700 each & 6 axles units were 2550 tons each. So, two 6 axle units were expected to handle the same tonnage as 3 four axles.
@RonaldB- A very delayed thank you for the information on the tonnage. If memory serves it wasn’t a very long train.
