CP SD40-2 6013 hustles back to Chapleau with its van (422988) after dropping the rest of its work train off at Cartier earlier in the day. They're about to knock down the home signal at Sultan (East) on CP's very remote Nemegos Sub.

  1. Beautiful Falls shot by the lake and colorful trees in the background and the clean van still in use after 30 yaers of their demise.

  2. Wait..what Year is this? Great shot and nice catch.

  3. Gotta love those multi-marks. Awesome shot.

  4. Tim, I think without a doubt, this is my new favourite picture on the website.

  5. Thanks for the feedback lads! I was a little concerned that I was going to be shooting a set of light units when I heard the hotbox detector go off, but I was pretty happy when I saw it come around the bend!

  6. There’s a bonus to taking the van back with them. I assume it might have MOW staff riding in it, but whether or not that’s the case… on CP, a single locomotive is restricted to 40mph but is permitted track speed if any other unit or piece of (unrestricted) rolling stock is coupled to it. Signal system reliability is the reason apparently.
