Caption: CP 9573, an AC4400CW, is eastbound at Kanaka on CP's Thompson Sub. The location is just west of Lytton where the Cisco Bridges cross the Fraser River. This shot was taken from mile 104 on CN's Ashcroft Sub at the end of the Cisco Siding Road. The Fraser runs through a narrow gorge here and we were perched on the edge of the cliff looking across the river. I'm not sure what caused the white stain on the cliff face, (possibly lime?) but on a recent visit, although faded, it was still quite visible.
Ouch! ... had we been able to shoot this train at a different location, we would have been able to get CP 9542 / 9569 / 9543 / 9010 and SOO 6058 trailing. Research indicates that all of these units are still running in some form or another.
