  1. Nice shot of the switcher and a string of auto-racks. This was the classic look of Oakville yard as I remember it in the 80′s. The switchers could be heard day/night and almost never stopped. The ballast on the tracks was unique too and was made from iron ore slag waste from the nearby Hamilton steel mills. It looks like rocks, but isn’t. It’s very heavy and black and looks like lava rock, but is heavier.
