CP 5663 leads a Chalk-River Sub bound freight past a vast array of interesting Ontario Northland power sitting outside their main diesel facility at the south end of North Bay. Although it was only the May two-four weekend, it was incredibly hot and smoggy for the time of year. Heat off the rock and ballast made it tough going wandering the yard that afternoon. But some great photos. Besides power out front there was also an old CP MLW switcher (so it looks) working and CN power out back as well. Back then, we were free to roam. Those days are over.............

  1. The Northland hood units look so good in this paint scheme. I love the lanterns on top of the switches too.

  2. Loved the lanterns! They all disappeared from the switches down at CN Fort Erie around 1975.

  3. All the best to you this Christmas season Arnold. :-)

  4. Thank you, kind Sir. Right back at you from the Grimsby House of Humbug. :o )
