Caption: Coming up to the crossing at Geneva Lake Road, 3.3 miles north of Cartier is probably the last Propane Fueling train of the season, topping up tanks. It is early April, and winter is winding down. The train stops and tops up propane at tanks along the way that fuel the Snow Melters which keep switches clean during the harsh Northern Ontario winters. On this train which looks like a Western Star cab in the lead is the huge liquid propane tank car, and behind it a work car which houses the pumping generator as well as perhaps tools and spare parts as needed. An accommodation car is next as this train rolls thru rather remote areas. The boxcar consists of perhaps the main generator and miscellaneous supplies for the train. A caboose is on this run, used as a rider-car or maybe even a Pilot Conductor could be aboard. Following in the hy-rail is the Protecting Foreman, who copies down track protections as well as likely being pressed into service to take the crew to rest as in overnight accommodations if possible. I'm guessing this train is running Cartier to Chapleau, Stopping to service switch heaters, it must be a rather long and monotonous trip. Note the two crossing signs. One English, one French.
