Caption: Coalhurst, west of Lethbridge, once was a simple junction of the Aldersyde and Turin subs from the north with the west-east Crowsnest sub., and as such had a small yard and a 24/7 train order office in the depot as shown here beyond the tail end of First 992 (note the green flags) with a pair of M-630s on Wednesday 1974-10-16. They have just set off the train they brought down from Alyth in Calgary and are headed to Lethbridge.
Nowadays, Kipp yard and maintenance facility occupy the space west and north of this location, replacing the downtown Lethbridge yard and roundhouse area which now has just the relocated through mainline and industrial trackage.

Remember that morning! The Fort McLeod operator told us Trainmasters were on their way down from Calgary. That got the adrenaline flowing. Maybe there were some TM traction motors under these M630′s.

Great timing catching the station in view between power and train.
I have to say I was profoundly shocked at the difference in this terrain now. A massive sprawling yard where once there was an old insulbrick station in the middle of an open field….
