CN's 0700 Prince George South Yard (North End) crew has "gone for beans" leaving BCOL C40-8M 4609 and CN SD40-2W 5280 idling outside of the lunch room. BCOL 4609 is the last of the series (4601-4626) remaining on the roster and has spent the last year of its life back home in Prince George working various yard jobs. 9 days later, CN sent this engine east on train Q198 with an uncertain fate. As of December 1st, 2024 it is in Winnipeg in "Long Term" storage status.

  1. Love the logo reflection…. I haven’t seen one of these leading in a hot minute – too bad they’re being parked. Guess the DMIR displacement put these on the radar of motive power.

They were great while they lasted. I hope this guy ends up in a museum.
