Caption: CNR 6218 works it's way north through the Don Valley, seen at the north switch for Rosedale siding. This trip was part of the Upper Canada Railway Society's "Toronto Bypass" excursion, running up the Bala to Doncaster, west along the new York Subdivision to Mac Yard, continuing onto the Halton Subdivision to Burlington, and back to Toronto on the Oakville Sub. Per the February 1965 newsletter, this was a trip of firsts:

"It was the first winter excursion for 6218, and the first time it had operated alone on an excursion in Ontario. The train was the first revenue passenger train over the York and Halton Subdivisions. It was the first time a steam engine had run between Doncaster and Halwest and the first time an engine of such size had run between Georgetown and Burlington. And, it was the first time that the Society had operated a steam excursion over a line that was not yet opened for regular service."
