CNR 6060 departs Toronto on its last excursion before retirement and relocation to Alberta.  Here, the "bullet-nosed Betty" eases up the Bala Sub just north of the Queen Street overpass and the former Don station site.

This trip was the main event of the National Railway Historical Society's 1980 convention, running from July 23 - July 27.  Events included a trip and tour of the TTC subway lines, a trip to Niagara Falls behind 6060 (second last trip), TTC streetcar charters and night photo session, night photo session at Agincourt yard, GO Transit charter throughout the system, including a side trip from Georgetown to the Halton County Radial Railway by bus, 6060's farewell trip to Newmarket via Washago and return via Allandale.  A train of American equipment, the Independence Limited, behind a set of Southern and Norfolk & Western power, was also in attendance with a string of private cars.
