Caption: CN L 55651 17 rolls through Daugh, Alberta Mile 7.4 on the Coronado Sub with CN 2569, CN 2624, RPCX 6311 and RPCX 6304. These FP9Au's are privately owned and were on display at the Alberta Railway Museum in Edmonton, however they are now enroute to Assiniboine, Saskatchewan. They will be interchanged to CP at Scotford in the coming days, for furtherance to Assiniboine. RPCX 6311 was previously VIA 6311, VIA 6529 and CN 6529. RPCX 6304 has a more storied history... Formerly VIA 6304, VIA 6509 and CN 6509 - it was also numbered 1967 and saw service on the Confederation Train in 1966 and 1967. The locomotives were lifted from the museum on a northbound train and went up to Boyle, on the Lac La Biche Sub. Here they are seen heading south back to Edmonton on the Coronado Sub; which used to run from Edmonton to St. Paul Alberta and featured a branch line to Cold Lake. At 68 and 65 years old, these units received one last hurrah on a CN train with the 70 mile detour to Boyle - Makes one wonder if these FP9's ever operated on the Coronado Sub in a past life.
