CN 6200 (a 4-8-4 Northern which is preserved on the grounds in front of the Canada Science and Technology Museum) continues to be refurbished, with a backup headlight added recently. I believe the two cranes in the background are related to work on the nearby Canada Science and Technology Museum, which has been closed for a number of years but is supposed to reopen in the fall.

    Anyone know precisely, the restoration potential condition of 6200? I know parts were removed to restore 6060, and also for anti-theft reasons.
    These steam collection in this museum is beautiful. The Diesel inside the restoration shed is one of the only two surviving Fairbanks Morse C-Liners, and deserves better refurbishment for display. Great museum with a great mission.

    They better insure a proper security fence goes up ASAP or it will decline to the state it was in for decades; a vandalized hulk. Sad.

    I last saw 6200 back in 1981. For some odd reason, I thought it would have been ‘covered’ or moved inside somewhere by now. It must be showing considerable exposure to the elements.
