Any idea when this crane was scrapped?
I’m not so sure the CN 50397 has been scrapped. We will have a guy out in the Kamloops area in the near future and will get him to do a little scouting to see what’s going on with the wreckers that were once assigned there.
That would be great, I thought the only one left was 50387 at the Alberta Railway Museum.
It would appear that CN 50397 (1st) in my above photo has been scrapped.
Ex-DM&IR X-16, an American model 830 DE locomotive crane, serial number J-3487, built in 1958 was renumbered to CN 50397 (2nd) and was on the Work Equipment roster until 2010. I have a photo of this second CN 50397 meeting its end in a scrap yard in October of 2010.
