CN 2423 breaks the early morning silence at the Mine Road Crossing outside of Caledonia Ontario. It is only a few minutes past sunrise as the crew on L501 makes their way towards Sarnia from Garnet with a lengthy train. With so many C40-8M's being retired and scrapped by CN...having a few be reactivated has been quite the treat. Get them while you can, when you can.

  1. Boy, do I miss photographing around the area despite CN’s ever changing presence, with the recent removal across Argyle St. But having seen CN in Csledonia having first moved there in 1988, some things never change in regards to the old motive power. Back then, it was my favourite in the old F units. But these are rare now…so makes your early morning photo more enjoyable Joe. Well done :)

  2. You’re more dedicated than I am. It’s a cool shot, framed perfectly.

  3. Love the contrast between stationary and moving objects.
