   Noteworthy 


   CP Rail FP7-A 4066 was renumbered ( and re-geared from 65 mph to 89 mph and back) several times: to 1422 in 1954; back to 4066 in 1966; to Via 1422 in Feb. 79; to Via 6566 in May 1980. February 1986: VIA 6566 was destroyed at CN Hinton, Alberta. For 4066 in CP Rail service circa 1977 see pic id=1666.

   Upon the VIA takeover of CP Rail (non commuter) passenger service, VIA removed CP Rail #11 & #12 from the CP Rail Mactier Subdivision October 1978 and the new VIA #1 & #2 The Canadian operated exclusively out of Toronto on the CN Newmarket Subdivision to CN Boyne on the Bala Subdivision mile 146 (Parry Sound), then onto CP Rail at Reynolds. 


   (Concurrently the Super Continental operated exclusively out of Montreal – note the Super C's Toronto connection was at North Bay: ONR Northander trains #121 and #122 ! ).


  Then June 1979 VIA  flipped the routings:  Super C to/from Toronto only and The Canadian to/from Montreal only.

  1. A real beauty of a photo….and the station grounds no longer look the same at all! All parking lot, at least was the case on my last visit. But, at least I’m still happy that the little station survives despite the changing landscape, and times.
