Caledonia is a neat place, but we all tend to focus on the historic stuff such as the bridge and river downtown, but this scene looked nice so I tried to capture it and had success when the Southern Ontario Railway ran on the line in daylight back in April this year.

Three RLHH engines, in G&W's best effort of "matching" paint schemes is passing over the Caledonia Bypass of HWY 6 built around 1980.

  1. That is a fun angle and only one that can be done at certain times! Good stuff

  2. Thanks Jow. But It’s good till 1500 right now :) That’s almost all day.

    The window is huge.

Places with much shorter windows: Sarnia from the North Side is good only in summer for an hour or two each day from May to September morning and evening.

North side Galt bridge is good from April to October for up to 3 hours, but usually less depending on how close to solstice. Eastbound shot from Galt bridge north side only good for 1 hour on June 20th +/- a week or two.

  3. Nice shot of a rare daylight appearance of SOR.
