By the spring of 1998 basically all class one MLW’s, and Bombardier products were retired and pending disposition. VIA’s main Toronto yard and CN’s small yard in Mimico soon became a storage yard for these units as well as a number of pieces of VIA equipment no longer needed. This angle show a good variety of units and equipment no longer on both CN and VIA rosters. Numerous M420’s, HR412’s and HR616’s can be seen behind some “Tempo” coaches, while RDC’s and steam generators as well as old blue steam heated cars can be seen in the background. The west end of the yard not seen here held a lot of similar cars and units as well.
