The "Ryerson Bookstore" signage on the building to the left is likely for the "Ryerson Press" publisher, rather than the polytechnical college/university of the same name. The quiet streets and sun angle suggest a weekend evening photo setting.

In the interest of furthering density, today a lot of older, smaller office towers like these are being torn down across Toronto for even taller and higher density buildings built on the same parcels of land.
