Built in 1914, the Heffernan St. pedestrian Bridge was constructed to avoid the then sprawling CPR Freight yard (and Freight shed tracks) in downtown Guelph, for pedestrians walking to their homes on the east side of the Speed River. In this scene, the Ontario Southland Railway is returning south after a long and hot muggy day of switching cars in North Guelph - with more work to do near lower yard in the south end before returning to Guelph Junction.
