Caption: Built as CN 4004 in 1966 as a straight GP40, 4095 trails on GEXR 581 as they arrive in Clinton Ontario. Rarely can you get a train in perfect nose light on GEXR as they run west in the morning and east in the afternoon, but this light power move fit the bill. I was camping nearby in Auburn Ont with family and friends and timed a brief excursion to meet the train, perfectly as by the time I got trackside the train was in view. They ran light power Stratford to Hensall, grabbed 2 cars, and returned to Stratford, a 90 mile round trip. I repeated the same feat the next day in Goderich.
Curious, how many straight 40's still exist and was this converted to a -2? I can't imagine there are many around. Also, P.S - I understand this area (exeter in particular) got hit hard with today's storm. Hope all is OK!

I wonder what noticeable dfferences are between a straight up GP40 and GP40-2?
Very nice Steve and hard to get 581 in this type of lighting as you had said.
