That is a stealth looking nose on the 6250.
Another pic from the guy who never seems to stay home. )
Yeah! The nose of VIA 6250 was bland enough being all grey, but the absence of the VIA Rail Canada logo with red maple leaf, and no road numbers stenciled at the bottom corners made it a pretty ‘plain Jane’.
Hi Arnold. Since the trains won’t come to me, I have no choice but to seek them out and ride them wherever they may go!
I enjoyed the Sudbury to White River and return run on the Budd cars, but I have to admit, it was my least favourite of all the trips I have taken in Canada on VIA.
VIA should really consider putting a Skyline or Park car on this run.
Very nice Paul, love the “red pimple” stuck in the coupler.! With the classification lights covered over and marker lamps long gone, guess this is the “tail end protection “. At least ther car number on the end are clearly visible. Despite the absence of VIA logo on the front end, very nice to see the 3-car RDC train running and the RDC-4 in operation. Agree with you, VIA should invest in refurbishing one of its remaining RDC’s into a lounge-business class car with hot food service and bar (lots of good local brew to serve) for the summer tourist season and private party charters. Good stuff, Paul. A fun ride indeed.
When the Siemans trains displace the corridor equipment there is talk of F40′s and heritage cars taking over. Part of the plan was reinstating the run to Thunder Bay, Now that would be a good trip !
