Caption: Brantford isn't the only city that has featured street running in the past 25 years. Here's an example. Shown is CN 7724, an SW1200, (off roster by 1990)trundling down the middle of Welland Ave in St. Catharines back on the early eve of July 1, 1987. The stoplight in the background is Niagara St. Trackage has been paved over for many years, but this stretch used to run from the old NS&T trolley yard area just out of sight a block down on the right, and curved off the Avenue left in another 1/4 mile or so, over to the GM plant on Ontario St. Little is left now, as industry retreats from the core of the city as it has everywhere else. GM is gone from this part of the city, but I believe the ol' Duck is still in business. CN 7724 was renumbered from 7024 in 1985 to accomodate switcher rebuild programs.

Classic!
It is amazing how much street running there was in the area and how the last of it ended only like 3 years ago…
This is so cute !
