Back when new GO F59PH's had taken over a lot of GO's commuter trains and rendered their older power surplus, some of the ex-Rock Island GP40-3's found their way leased to CP for freight service. At Woodstock in early February 1992, CP SD40-2 5590 leads GO GP40-3's 724 and 723 on a westbound freight near the west end of the yard, just past Ingersoll Avenue. Both would be traded in to EMD two years later on a new F59PH order, and join the EMD lease fleet in the EMDX 200-series.

  1. Go units on weekends was common, trains to Port McNicoll on grain trains was common then as well!
