Caption: Back in the mid-90s when CP was leasing everything they could get their hands on, sometimes even us "seasoned" guys could not believe what we were seeing. This oddity made up the Guelph Jct Turn, which used to come from The Big Smoke, interchange at the Junction and return. VIA 6456, HATX 216, VIA 6455, CP 8241 brought in a long train, set off most it's train east of the junction and then backed around the wye, and as you see it in this image, it is nosed up to the "Guelph Jct" namesign, and is going to drop off the rest of its' train; then running back east with only the lead three units. Pity the HATX 216 (x-UP 2110) is so filthy, but ya take what ya can get.

To me, this is about as ‘insane’ as a ACR F40PH, A superliner and a TEST train,
except this happened regularly I am led to believe….. for a brief period.
Great shot Arnold! Wish these lashups still happened.
Steve, one day (that I’m aware of) an F40 (VIA 6449) was used on the Guelph local, hauling transformers from ABB. Check it out: https://www.flickr.com/photos/137273832@N07/25267871093/
